Each year thousands of people, and hundreds of artists all gather in Park City to celebrate beauty. Needless to say, attendees are surrounded by beauty with the scenery of Historic Main Street and the mountains that hug around our quaint little ski town, but they are also privy to an amazing array of talented artists offering their creations for sale. Visitors are amazed at the depth and quality of art, jewelry, clothing, sculpture, and food that is available to browse or to buy. There are 220 vendors this year! Live music is always a part of the mix and the scene is always lively. All ticket proceeds go directly to the Kimball Arts Center so that they may continue to provide their year-round events, education and exhibits.

There are some fantastic events that surround the festival itself that truly add to the entire experience. One such event is the Collectors Exchange, which will take place at The Yard, 1251 Kearns Boulevard, on Thursday, August 2nd from 6-10PM. This event was designed to bring pieces of art that have been donated by their owners to be offered for purchase by the general public. This is a unique opportunity to purchase some fabulous art at perhaps a lower cost than what was originally paid for the pieces. Enjoy an evening filled with libations, art, and mingling with like minded art enthusiasts.
The festival offers plenty of hands on fun and engaging activities for kids as well! Of course there will be face painters on hand to help kids express their inner lion, dragon, flower or puppy! After they have their faces painted, they’ll surely want to head over to visit the tie dye and ceramics stations where they can create their own masterpieces. There will also be a kids scavenger hunt, multiple kids geared demonstrations and booths, and a student art show.
There will be loads of musical artists and bands playing the soundtrack for the weekend, and stages will be located throughout the festival. There will be three stages, the Miner’s Stage, The Kimball Stage, and the Artisan Stage. All day long there will be all sorts of bands and musical guests playing for your pleasure. You’ll hear every kind of music imaginable – including a performance by the Mayor of Park City’s band, the Motherlode Canyon Band, on August 5th at 11AM. Another favorite is the Daniel Day Trio, who will be playing on August 4th at 1PM. The trio is known for their original arrangements of popular pieces – you really have to see them perform!
There is so much going on, all packed in to one weekend! This is a must do in Park City in the summertime.
Places to stay:
Close to the action on Main Street, but far enough way to enjoy a little peace and quiet after a day of art hunting, Hotel Park City offers one of the best locations in town!
Park City Peaks Hotel has a great indoor/outdoor pool, and hides a little locals secret, Enchilada Wednesday – a lunch time favorite! Also, located moments away from Main Street, this is a great option for Art Fest goers.
