Of course when you think of Park City, Utah, you think of the beautiful mountains full of world class ski resorts and amazing summer sports. However, Park City has loads of water sports to enjoy during the warmer months as well! With multiple reservoirs within 30 or so minutes from Old Town, getting on the water is easy! The Jordanelle Reservoir is the closest body of water, and during the summer months offers boating, and sailing to name a few of your options.

The Park City Sailing Association was conceived in 2008 and has grown in size and notoriety since that time. Now hosting multiple nationally recognized events each year, beginning and advanced sailors alike can learn the ropes of sailing on the 6-square mile Jordanelle. A great way to learn more about the offerings of the association, and to find out how you can get involved, you’ll want to attend their Sail-A-Palooza on June 2nd. The event begins at 10AM and runs until 4PM and will be hosted at the Jordanelle State Park. Meet like-minded sailing enthusiasts, and enjoy the many activities they have planned throughout the day. There Will be a BBQ on the beach, free rides on their sailboats, stand up paddle-boarding demonstrations, and a Laser racing and rigging clinic! Stand up Paddle Boarding is the fastest growing paddle sport in the world. Although SUP is certainly enjoyable, it also offers you great health benefits including improved cardiovascular fitness, strength training and balance improvement. Park City Stand Up Paddle boarding has been showing folks how to paddle board on the Jordanelle for awhile now, and you can rest assured that they have an expert team of knowledgeable instructors to educate you. You will be instructed by a certified personal trainer and member of the world paddle association while enjoying the beautiful views of mountain all around you! The annual Wasatch Back Student Art Show: Everyday Art will be taking place. This show features work by student artists in Summit and Wasatch County Schools, grades K – 12. The exhibition runs April 14 through May 27 and is great for the entire family. On Saturday, May 12 visitors can pick up a scavenger hunt sheet and stroll through the 3 galleries while finding the answers to the clues. Visitors then will return completed the scavenger hunt sheet and pick a prize from a treasure chest. Admission is free, and the event takes place from 12PM-5PM.

Kids love fire trucks! Bring your family by to check out the Park City Fire Department’s Fire truck, and visit with some of the firemen who help to protect our beautiful little ski town. Drop by between noon and 2PM. Also, make sure to check out the fantastic selection of hot sauces, gourmet snacks and BBQ sauces in the store. Make sure to take home some yummy chipotle popcorn while you’re there.
