From Tastings to Sleigh Rides, Park City Dining Can Be An Adventure!

I had the opportunity to spend an evening with some visiting German journalists dining at Easy Street, a local favorite for dinner.  Spending time with visitors to our amazing little ski town reminds me, yet again, what a remarkable place we all get to either live in or visit, and how much is going on each and every day in Park City.  Whether you are staying in an amazing luxury vacation rental, or a posh hotel, we all have the chance to experience the incredible lifestyle Park City has to offer everyone!

Park Cityis a town flush with activity. Park City is also one of the most charitable communities you will ever come across, so when activity and charity come together, you end up with Park City’s premiere fundraising event of the year – Red, White & Snow.  This event benefits the National Ability Center and is centered upon and activity everyone loves – eating!  This three-day event celebrates some of the nation’s top chefs and vintners. The event offers a unique opportunity for culinary and wine connoisseurs, vintners, chefs, and skiers from across the country to mingle in an extraordinary setting.  The weekend is made up of a variety of wine tastings, vintner dinners hosted at private homes in Park City and Deer Valley, three ski days at three different local resorts, and culminates with a gala dinner and auction.  All proceeds from the event directly benefit the NationalAbilityCenter’s programs for individuals with disabilities. Red White & Snow takes place over a few days, March 8-10, and includes multiple activities, so do visit their website at www.redwhiteandsnow.org to check out all of the details.

For a true European dining experience, you will want to head up to the Empire Canyon Lodge in Deer Valley to take part in the Fireside Dining experience.  Enjoy local favorites from the European Alps. Fireside Dining at Empire Canyon Lodge features four courses served from five crackling stone fireplaces. You can meander from station to station, enjoying such delectables as warm Swiss raclette cheese, cured meats, salads, savory stews, potato rosti, risotto or polenta, fire-roasted leg of lamb, fresh baked breads and dessert fondues. Whew!  That’s a culinary workout indeed!  A full bar is available, as well as specially selected wines and imported beer. Horse-drawn sleigh rides are available for hire or consider an adventurous trek before dinner on snowshoes.  Fireside dining is open Wednesday through Saturday, 6 – 9 p.m. This is a must experience during your stay here in Park City! More information can be found at www.deervalley.com .

Speaking of sleigh rides, The Snowed Inn Sleigh Company offers romantics and families alike a chance to snuggle in and enjoy a picturesque sleigh ride up to the Snowed Inn Lodge, located at Park City Mountain Resort.  The chef will prepare you an authentic gourmet meal while you relax and enjoy the live entertainment.  Upon completing your Snowed Inn experience, you’ll be nestled back in to your sleigh for a cozy ride back down the mountain.  Although sleigh rides are available without the dining experience, you’ll certainly want to indulge in the true western fare offered up to dining guests!  What a fun evening on the mountain! Visit www.snowedinnsleigh.com for times and sample menus.
